MadLab's Making it Digital is a series of digital fabrication workshops and courses designed to equip unemployed and underemployed women with skills to kickstart careers, launch businesses and open up new job opportunities in technology and beyond!
What you'll learn
We will offer practical, hands-on sessions as well as talks led by industry professionals that emphasise foundational digital making technology.
Our workshop sessions will cover a series of introductory, digital making activities; from operating, designing and producing prototypes with 3D printing and laser cutting, to learning the nuts and bolts of coding with BBC micro:bits. You can find detailed information about all of the workshops and seminars in the series on the dates page.
Who are these sessions for?
The classes are designed for women of any ability and experience level, from complete beginners to the more advanced. Whether you have a certain career in mind, or simply want to develop new skills while gaining insight into a growing field, we encourage you to come and cultivate your potential for success in the creative and technology industries!
These opportunities are only available to Manchester City residents (not Greater Manchester), aged 18+. Attendees will need basic computer and digital skills.
If this isn’t you, or you require additional training before attending, or have any further enquiries, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
